I heard a message yesterday about "taking it one day at a time." Sometimes I roll my eyes at this one. I mean, how can we do this with so much on our plates and so little assistace? BUT HEAR ME OUT- there is so much power in this! What if we had enough faith to trust we will make it through each moment by moment? What if we allowed peace to set in and take over instead of our racing minds? What if we truly trusted that as the lillies in the fields and the birds in the sky are taken care of without fear of "what happens next?" that we too will have all of our needs met? Could you imagine walking around like you have all that you need???
I'm not just speaking on a financial level (although a lot of us need that assurance as well).
I am also thinking of that need of healing from a debilitating disease- I feel good TODAY. I am healing one day at a time.
I am thinking of that pending work project- I am completing one task towards this assignment TODAY and I see sucess at work one day at a time.
I am thinking of those stressful days with the kids- I am creating spaces or moments of peace in my mind (deep breaths) TODAY and we will have peace in our home one day at a time.
Let's do this together: "I__________TODAY and _________one day at a time!"
How would you fill in the blanks? There's no right or wrong and your needs may change moment by moment.
Let's take today's challenges and navigate those. Tomorrow's challenges will be there tomorrow.
Love to all the Baby Mamas!
Here is the verse utilized with this message for reference. Read it if you need it:
25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[e] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:25-34
